I had about that many track passes on those as well. Just 1 day at the track I had 9 passes and could have done more but it was way too cold out so I just went home. Other days about 3 passes 1 every month or so depending on the track that I went to.

So this is why I suck at the track with 555r's.. gotta do a good burnout with em and can't do it without linelock.. i'd like to try these new nt05r's soon

The new NT05's are badass. The mt radials are nice but do not last long at all.

Well I got some Nitto NT05R's coming 275/40/17.. what's everyone running for psi and how long of a burnout (preferably time elapsed in seconds)? This past weekend on bald 555r's my best 60ft was 1.94 and they are on ribs. They were around 18psi to start with down to 12psi by the end of the day nothing helped.

Check my 12.27 link and you'll see how long to do the burnout with the 555r's, I didn't have a line lock at the time either, got a 1.71 60' in that vid.

Default NT05R's

My brother has a set of nt05r's on his V, there 305/45/18 and they dont hook that great on the street but they hook ok on the strip, before he has nt555r and they didnt hook at all even though there not the nt555rII's. In the rain they suck, car slides every where. His 60ft's are 2.3 to 2.4 running 12.3's in the 1/4.

I cut 1.78 60ft on 275/50r15 Nitto 555R

Best last weekend on 325/50r15 MT was 1.77 (had to roll into it some or it would spin)

I don't see how people say they suck...

I have the 555r now and have not gotten much life out of them. I know the softer the tire usually means less life but better grab. I guess I am hoping for the magic tire that gives good high hp traction with decent life that stills works in the rain. I have slicks for the track but still would like to enjoy hard pulls on the street and most important the need to be safe.

Can anyone show me a pic or measure the difference in size of the 315 555R and the 315 05R?

I know people mount the 555R on a 9.5" rim all the time despite what others say, not the case with the 05R?

I have a set of the NT05r's on the way. I plan on testing them out this weekend at the track if all goes well. Anyone have any burnout tips for these tires?

Wow, I think thats thinner than a piece of paper, lol.

Actually, they are 6.3/32. They should last a while, but that all depends on how you drive.

Would the NT555 or NT555R last pretty long if driven JUST on the street? Will have a dedicated set of DRs for the track...
