Rudy at Tirerack has recommeded these as cheap tire as well, and would perform 10x better than the Sumitomo.

i've had
BFGoodrich KDWS
Riken Raptor
Kumho Ecsta ASX
in the 275 size and of them all I liked the Riken. It lasted the longest and was harder to turn over than the others.
The Kumho I'm running now in a 285, and I wouldn't recommend them that big on the front, but on the back the aggressive tread pattern and the sheer size of the tire is ominous looking from the rear.
The BF's were gone in a very short period of time considering I never do burnouts because I hate buying tires.
The Riken was the cheapest out of them all.
