Default Nitto 555 up front and MT ET Street DR out back?

Hey guys how about some opinions on this setup, I have 17x9.5 Konig Monsoons and I'm thinking about running MT ET Street DR 275/40/17 out back and the original Nitto 555 285/40/17 up front. I want the tires to have the same sidewall height when looking at it from the side and I don't want to do the BFH out back. From what I've read even though the MT is a 275/40 it's still 26" tall like the Nitto 285/40. Am I right to assume this or does anyone know otherwise

the DR will probably be smaller than the front tire, with sidewall and overall height i would not do it, a 275 drag radial is going to be the same size or smaller than a street tire so the 275 is going to be smaller than the 285 up front.

you wont have to do any BFH mode either, you should be able to get 285s or even 295s on there in 40 sidewall and it should give a nice stance.

The only other size MT offers is a 295/45/17 which is 27" tall but has a wider sidewall width of 11.6 right now my tires are 11.2 and it doesn't look like I can fit anything bigger without rubbing. Yall have any other suggestions/opinions?

I have 285/40-17s on the front and MT ET Drag Radials 275/40-17 on the rear. The size difference is noticeable to my eye. Deosn't look real bad but the front are definitely taller looking. Previously I had the 285s all around but switched to drag radials to go play at the track. I'm thinking of going smaller on the front (255) just to clean up the look (for me at least). You may want to check some other style tires (Road Race, R-types, Kumho, Bridgestone, Dunlop, Pirelli) for sizes. They aren't quite as soft was the DRs but they are plenty soft and can handle street duty really well.

Later ... Larry S.
