Hello all,

I'm wondering what you guys think of the NT 05's as a summer street tire.

I don't want something that's going to wear out in 10k miles, but I want some good street driving/ cornering/ straight line tire. Never drive in winter, very RARE for rain.

Just a good all arounder.

Let me know what you guys think, You haven't failed me yet

You want NT05s but you don't want something that will wear out in 10K???? They are going to wear out in less than 5K. They are great drag radilals but buy another set of rims, they are track tires. I am running Nitto 555s (for street)

I think you you're confusing NT05's that OP is talking about with NT05R. One is a street tire, the other a drag radial tire.

There are a lot of good street tires. I ran NT555's they do great for traction except trying to launch with a M6. Good daily driver street tire though and with the full bolt-ons they never broke loose above 20mph during those spirited highway runs.

I'd wait to hear from guys running Nitto Invo, BFG KDW2, or any other decent tires. These are pretty popular lately, especially the Invo's and the vette guys.

I just finished up with this decision. i was hearing good things about the INVO, but just couldnt pull the trigger. the only review i have heard out of the NT05 was that it was worse than a 555.

i ended up going with the bridgestone Potenza RE-11. looks like a perfect balance, plus just about the only thing offered in the size i needed.

I have NT555 street tires right now, I've been thinking about stepping up to the NT-05s as well. The NT555s are pretty good, and I've heard good things about the NT-05s. The NT-05 supposedly isn't great for road course use, I've heard they get "greasy" as they start to get hot. For street use, they should be fine.

1) NT 05 is not a drag radial.

2) They are rated for 10-15k miles, and reviews on this board reflect that.

I have ran the NT-05 tires for a year and they have more than 10k miles on them and still have plenty of tread. I corner carve on the weekends and have made many 10+ hour one way trips with them. They hook and handle. The key is having the right tire pressure for the driving your doing, as well as alignment.

Alright,

The Invo's are not in stock anywhere that I can find (discount tire, tire rack, belle tire).....

So I guess in my price range I'm looking at the NT 05 or 555

Could you guys comment on these two tires?

I have been very happy with my NT05 choice. I guess I am easy on tires because I have over 10,000 on them. I have had them on the road coarse and they did great but I have not pushed them really hard yet. They are a big improvement over the GS-D3 I had before. Straight line traction is good for a non DR tire.

I have triple nickels on both my camaros. I love them. Great all around tire for the price. Will continue to purchase as needed.
