Summit wheels are garbage. They're just as heavy if not heavier than your stock wheels, defeating the whole purpose of a drag wheel. They're okay for the guys into the "drag look" but really they don't even accomplish that because they just LOOK like a cheap knock off of a real Prostar. Racestars are alright I suppose, but I will never beable to feel safe going 150mph on a set of wheels knowing the 1/8th thick little offset washers are the only thing centering my wheel on my hub, instead of the lug nut shank itself.

Camaro396 aint a newb like me obviously. lol for all intents and purposes of racing he couldnt be more correct. but i was planning on putting them on a daily driver.... 700 HP daily driver, but still, not too concerned with a little extra weight. and i will be getting some solid 1.25 inch spacers with longer bolts i thought these would look badass until i got the money for some 505a's. lol i like the drag and low pro look and wanted a set up for both. ls6firebird has me sold on his exact set up (not to copy man... lol my bad)

OP ... did you not sell that car for $18,000? That would have been a killer deal for you!

Back to your post, I will be running Race Stars for my track setup. I am just waiting for a great deal. In this economy, they are out there .... it just takes time. The $660 that "ls6firebird" mentioned should have included shipping, washers and lugs. That is the best deal I have seen thus far for brand new skinnies and 10's. Keep in mind that these wheels require the Race Star specific washers and lugs and they also fit Mustangs with different washers and lug threads. Be careful if you find a used set that the washers and lugs are specific to an f-body.

"TransSlam" .... gorgeous ride! Is that SOM? It is hard to tell in the that light.

You are right, IMO the black centered RT-S's are the best looking track setup out there if you have the cash!

No the buyer had some personal issues come up which included a lot of medical bills so the sale fell through sadly...

The RTS wheels (in the post above yours, and in the pictures below) are only a couple hundred bucks more than Racestars and Summit Stars, and have ALL the benifits of a real SFI certified lightweight drag wheel, while still being 100% street friendly. I drive my car on the RTS wheels on the street all the time. Love them.

Plus they look badass in black or polished!

Now I'm just worried about the rear...

Will it hold if I hook? All stock 10 bolt on an A4 car with a built trans and 3000 stall

Great deal, but that is because you will have to grind calipers and/or add spacers to run Weld Prostars ... !

I shouldn't have to grond much on a 15x8 though correct?

And will I pretty much be sure to have to run a spacer?

I have found new RT-S's to be about $320+ more per set than new Race Stars ... $980 delivered + lugs as opposed to $660 delivered including lugs. Each based on skinnies and 10's.

Are there better deals that I am missing for RT-S's?

The width, back spacing and offset of the wheel has nothing to do with the amount of grinding or requirement to use a spacer to increase caliper clearance. It is the distance from the face of the mounting flange to the inside face of the wheel. This is the spacing reserved for the caliper. It is wheel specific not size specific.

If this guy is local to us, the best thing to do is drive your car there and test fit. You will be able the tell about how much work you will have to do to with them mounted. Don't be surprised if it is alot.

Another option is to place a flat edge along the mounting flange and measure to the inside face of the wheel and compare the distance to your wheels assuming your custom wheels fit without rubbing.

A friend of mine put weld prostars on his t/a and I think your going to do a lot more grinding than you,ll be happy with. And he also had to run spacers.
