The ZR1s I plan on cutting have a pretty beat up edge... someone smacked a curb pretty hard with them...

The 555R II 275/40/17 has hooked very well for me the past 9,000+ miles. They have broken loose a time or two while turning at 2,000-2,500 RPMs. Overall they are great but I plan on trying some MTs soon.

^M/T's are overkill and a waste of money for most cars...they hook great, without a doubt, but they wear out fast and they're expensive...not a good call for people with bolt-on power IMO...heads/cam, nitrous, and FI cars might want to look into them, but I feel that in too many cases (not accusing anybody specifically) people turn to them too quickly in most cases when their bald street tires no longer get them traction...

They see it as a quick fix, but they're basically just throwing money away at a tire they don't really need. There are many cheaper options out there that will yield perfect traction and last a lot longer for bolt-on/lightly modded cars...

Basically like saying "I need to kill a squirrel, and my slingshot won't do it...I'm going to buy a rocket launcher..."

Ordered my tires from Discount Tire Direct late Friday, had an issue with our internet on the first try, ended up placing my order about 3-4pm... It's Monday morning and UPS just dropped them off at my shop (:

Awesome.

I'll be ordering a matching front pair later this week.

OP, you have those tires on your car yet? Thanks for the measurement pics, that has definitely made my mind up that I am going to run them. Any rubbing? How do they hook?

I've got them mounted on the wheels, gonna take a few more pics tonight with measurements and such.

I didn't plan to put them on the car until my front tires were mounted, but I'll see about putting them on tonight and taking a few pics with measurements and such.

I wanted to provide as much information as possible, I know alot of people look into running this combo.

There is no bulge on the tire. The outside rim measurement is 12", with the tire before mounting being 12.5"... the sidewall is about a flat with the wheel as you can possibly get. I'll try to get some pics up tonight.

Dog! you should have gone with the Toyo proxes TQ drag radials, nice fat tire excellent wear for a drag radial handle well at high speeds and handle well in the rain.Very sexy tire!(i hope that didnt sound gay.) I had the MTs 315/35/17 they looked really narrow and I didnt like them so I took them back and got the toyos and instantly fell in love (i may have humped the tire I dont remember) but any way I hope you like the Nittos I cant say anything bad about them as I have never used them.

The car is stuck in the garage... I was programming the PCM for the slightly taller tire and bumped the cable during the upload, waiting on my new Intel chips to show up.

I'll try to get it out this weekend, I plan on making a trip to Dallas in it on Saturday.

Ok I'm in the same boat as rickymartin...in a way. Im thinking about buying a set of 17x9(fronts) & 17x11(rear) my cars makin 475RWHP right now and I'm runnin on the stock 10bolt. I want the WIDEST/Best tire as possible. I also have a set oF C6s that are on the car right now. 18x8.5s & 19x10.5s. Idk which set to go with. I was told too low profile tires provide less traction, but I love the rims. Can I go as wide withte 19" as I can with a 17 with out having I do ANY modding? I might be willing to do some fender rolling but idk.
