Default Question about wheels?

So I have been on the market for some new wheels lately. I have taken a few measurements pertaining to backspace and where I want the wheel to sit in conjunction to the fenders. Are any of you guys with custom wheels running a custom backspace up front to push the wheel out? I was looking a running a 9" wheel with a 6" backspace up front. Does anyone think it would look good or should I keep them tucked a little? Thanks.

should look fine

a good rule of thumb on the front - take your wheel's total width minus the backspacing... the difference should be around 3" to look good

the factory 16x8 have a 50mm offset which is roughly a 6in backspacing - 8-6=2in - if you search, you'll see several people that have used a 1in spacer on the fronts to push them out a bit. essentially subtracting from the backspacing so its like a 8in wide wheel with a 5in backspacing - 8-5=3... the magic number

in your case, they'll look good and flush without looking ghetto

Thanks for the input. What does anyone think about going 2 inches a side off the rear and fitting a 12 or 11 inch wheel with a 315 or 335?

do you mean a narrowed rear?

if so, its been done several times, just make sure your wheels' offset/backspacing is compensated for the rear. 315's on an 11" wheel is commonplace - just search
