Default Toyo Proxes R888 for daily use?

I need new tires and there's a guy near me selling a full set of R888's for super cheap. They have about 1/2 tread left, and I've read good reviews on them. The ONLY problem I have is that they would be going onto my dd. I see the low treadwear ratings on them so I was wondering if they would be good for daily driving?

I would be weary with them only having half the tread life. I don't have experience with these tires but typically the tire compound is going to get harder with each heat cycle. Unless you are getting a really damn good deal, I might look elsewhere. Also, they probably won't last you too long on DD duty. You'll be buying another set soon after.

Toyo makes several tires for these cars. Which ones were you all not a fan of?

i had toyo proxes and they handled very nice but the wear rating on them sucked very soft tires i also thought they were overpriced and overrated but thats just my opinion im kinda biased towards certain brands but if youre gonna spend money now and then have to spend it again i would just do it right the first time and buy new tires

Most of their car tires hall under the Proxes banner.

Toyo Proxes RA-1
Toyo Proxes T1-R
Toyo Proxes R-888
Toyo Proxes R1-R.....just to name a few

If they had a low treadwear rating, i wouuld not be shocked that they wore out quickly.

I have had mine on for around a month now. Only have drove the car maybe 3-4 times since then and have already noticed some tire wear. I have only got on it to see how well they grip, no burnouts.
