Default Do All Replica Chromes Peel or Flake??

Do all replica chrome wheels end up peeling or flaking in the end? Is there any way to prevent this? I may buy some of these wheels but I'm thinking it might be better to go with a powder coat option.

For example, the ones here.

Expensive or not, if they're exposed w/ salt, they will flake.

My chrome wheels were mint for 3 years straight until I moved here in England and got exposed to the road salts here ONE time in the winter and all of them started flaking.

Most Chinese cast wheels are not the greatest quality chrome. I had OEwheels on a DD Camaro years ago. They were great for the price but after daily driving, brake dust, and salt exposure once they peeled like a ****. The worst part was the inner barrels peeled really fast and looked gross. If you got a wheel dipped at say a motorcycle shop were they have quality/close to show chrome the life is almost double that of the Chinese stuff if not exposed to Salt. For the price of OEwheels if you get 3 years out of em your still getting a deal.

Just make sure you keep them clean and polished they should last a while. I had generic chrome rims on my old car and they had very very minor blemishes. but on the other hand my friend has a SLP SS with OEM Chrome Zr1s and they are peeling badly since he doesnt maintain them.

I've had my chrome c6z oewheels for 2 years and through two winters and they still look brand new no flaking at All, there was tiny little pits Between where the spokes split at the lip. Buy a power cone and some polish removed them instanty. Oewheels are a great product

I've had good success with all of my chrome wheels thanks to good care. Never had a garage so they've always been exposed to the elements however I keep them off of the road when snow/salt is an issue.

Me too. I'm going to powdercoat my wheels.
