Default New Nittos

Looking to see if anyone on here is running the new Nitto 050Rs in a 275/40/17? and are they as wide as the mickey thompson ones in the same size, just looking to see some pics and how they look on the cars

. . . got the NT05 (non Rs) and they suck at the track... good luck...

Yeah but compared to what? I would like to think the R drag radial version would be better than the regular radial

The non R's arent made for drag racing so you cant expect them to be spectacular on the strip.

Nt05r's from what I am reading they are a pretty good tire. You can get them from jegs for 177 a tire

Yea just wanna see if they hook up and look just as good on the car as the Mickeys do ?

I have the 275/40/17 Nitto NT05R drag radials, first drag radials I've ever owned.


Pulled a 1.8 60ft on them still learning to launch and to do a proper burnout.


I'll be getting these tires again in the 315/35/17 size but not for track use really.

I liked them a lot. They do okay in the rain, just can't romp on the gas lol

these suck ***** all the way around!!! they only lasted 5K and one of them fell off my wheel in the rain doing a small fishtail. had perfect psi too!

Ive got them on my car and love them, excellent excellent grip. They are a little less in width them my sumitumos i had on same size. Mine are 315 35 17's though not 275 40 17.

The NT05Rs run as wide as other drag radials. They don't run narrow like the 555Rs. They seem to hook up just as well if not better than the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial. A mustang magazine did a test on them when they first came out. I think it was either Fast Fords or 5.0. I'm sure you can find it online some where.
