Default Widest tires for a 18x10 rim on a 02 WS6?

Hello all,

I just got some new Iforged Astras for my 02 WS6.. I have lowered the car already with a Eibach lowering kit.. The wheels in the rear are 18x10s. I know i can get a 295/35/18 on there with no issues. I was wanting to put a 305/35/18 on there if possible.. I have no problem with rolling my fenders or even cutting the inner quarter panel if i have to.. Does anyone know if this will work ? Will it look bubbled out and stupid?Any help would be appreciated . I keep getting different answers from everywhere i ask..Pics if possible..

Thanks,

Craig

I would personally run the 295/35/18. I ran that on a slightly wider 10.5" wheel and the sidewall was perfect. Actually my old Z06 wheels which you still see in my signature.

BFG makes a drag radial in that size (295.30.18)

I don't think that you'll have any issues running a 305 on that wheel. I certainly wouldn't go any bigger than that. Definitely 295.30.18 is preferred.

A 285 or 295 series would be a good fit.

I want to run a 305 but no seems to make a 305/30/18 in a good drag radial..Mickey T makes a 305/35/18 but im not sure that will work. Do you know if a 305/35/18 would work ? I can roll the fenders if need be and cut some inner quarter panel as well..

Thanks

Per their specs it's 11.5" wide and will fit on a 10" wide wheel . . . Ultimately depends on the offset of the wheel . .

May be able to get away with a minor quarter lip roll, and maybe a little inner wheel well massaging.

I have been running the Nitto 555r 305's on my 18x10 wheel for a while and love them! I had to use the BFH mod to the inner part of the well just a tad, sprayed it with the rubberized coating afterwards, but I did not have to roll the fenders at all. With the mods I have they hook really good on the street. Don't be afraid to run the 305s at all. Oh and I run the Eibach Pro Kit as well so its a good bit lower. PM me if you have any questions.

Like many others, I run the MT 305/35r18 drag radials on a 18x10 wheel. My quarter panels were already rolled and the inner wells were lightly massaged. You say you're car is lowered? Hopefully you have an adjustable panhard... because you'll need it. If it helps any I've gone 1.48 60' on those tires

Whatever you do, do not go with the 295/30R18 that Spd recommended. It'll look stupid riding on that low of a profile. As for me, I went with a 295/40R18 on the C5 DD 18x10.5's.

Yes , its lowered with a Eibach lowering kit.I think im going to go with the Mickey Ts . I had the 275s Mickeys on my car on the stock wheels and they seem to be the only tire that will hook on a 200 shot..

Thanks

I am running 285 Eagle F1s on the front now, that pic had my last set of 265s on the front and on a 18x10 wheel it was too narrow. 275 or 285 will work fine. BTW...if you drive your car much at all on the street the MT's are going to wear much faster than the Nitto drags which is why I run the Nittos. At the track the MTs are better but these Nittos hook just fine for me.

Thanks for all your help.

I prefer to run the KDWs up front. The 245/40r18 was $45 cheaper than the 265/35r18 and they were available locally. That and the slightly narrower tire up front helps the staggered look, which I like.
