Alright, my BFG drags are showing white all the way around and I need new tires tomorrow. I don't expect these GY GS-D3's to be good at the track, but will they hook up from say a 50 roll with gobbs of power on spray? Thats all I'm interested in, that and a good rain tire.

Well I've never run them under your circumstances. I've probably got half the hp that you do when you're spraying. I can tell you that the traction is like night and day between the stock F-1's and D3's. I used to be able to just tap the throttle in 1st and just light them up. Not now. I have to lay into it all the way through 1st and they barely spin. They are supposed to be one of the best handling wet tires made.

I agree, these tires will kick butt for most of us out there...mine should be hitting the pavement in about a week! I'll give an update.

I've made my mind up to try them out. Getting them tomorrow or Wednesday. Most shops have them around here.

I am paying $205 each for the 275/40s from a local Goodyear shop...only because they could get them this week. 1 local, 2 from Charlotte, and the last tire from Commerce, GA.
I couldn't wait for the backorder because my tires are BALD as a babies butt.

Did you guys know these tires weigh 27 lbs each? That's more than double what my rims weigh.

That is actually very good for a 275-40-17. Yoko AVS Intermediates are around 30, though the A032Rs were around the 27. And your rims are really only 13lbs ? Very nice.

Damn I can't wait to get mine mounted! My stock F1's have about 1K left on them and then I'll do some massive burnout videos and then off to have my new D3's mounted and the front aligned again. Before I beefed up my suspension I could get a little traction. After the suspension mods the car really plants the tires to the ground and when I step on it from 2500 rpms in 1st gear I can spin them all the way to 3rd gear. I couldn't get 275's from anywhere so I went with 285's instead. My local NTB matched the lowest price I could find on the web and then took another $10 off each tire!
