Guys interested in Iforged pricing. I got quotes on several of their 2-piece wheels. The 2-piece dont come in half inch incriments so for 18x9 and 18x10s it was $2500 something for a set full polished. For Snake Skinner, you have to go to the 3-piece for chrome and I have heard alot of negative things about whoever Iforged uses for chrome. Also build time was 8-10 weeks.

Damn.....just a little too much still.......****......

I would consider them if I knew the polish, if taken care of seriously which I would do, would last a long long time.

Polished finish should last a very long time if maintained. **** if you never let them get wet and kept them always clean and polished they would outlast the car I would think.

Well, I have to drive in the rain, thats just a must. But if I wash my car every 4-5 days, which I do, and dry the polished rims.....you think they'll stay 100% perfect for at least 5 years?

Yes. From what I know about factory polished wheels, any water that is left on them for awhile will leave hard waterspots that are a bitch to get off. If I ever get caught in rain ill dry off the wheels with a rag and then polish them up next wash. Im gonna get some Adams metal polish soon, I hear it works wonders and makes polishing a breeze.

Well fu<k me up the goat ***! really don't wanna buy a high end wheel and then have to pay for it to be chromed, but it's looking that way, thx 4 the info though.

A friend of mine tells me that he used to put regular exterior paint polish on his polished rims and it would protect them like it does paint. What do you think about that? Can polish harm the finish?

I would think someone makes an aluminum polish/sealer product thats safe for polished finishes.....no?

No...no they won't. Don't even try to convince yourself that they will stay perfect for that long. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't even give them 1 week on a daily driver. Tried it...didn't like it.

Jeez...you serious? Than what the hell good are these expensive high polished wheels? Show cars only that don;'t drive around?

I guess I'll stick to my original idea. But a set of painted OE Wheels.....strip them and have them chromed by a GOOD chrome shop here locally.

For a daily I honestly would stay away from polished wheels. My car is a sunny day driver. Never sees rain unless Im caught out in it. Chrome will be much easier to maintain but the drawback is weight when your talking high-end compared to Oewheels.

Man, makes me just want to widen my factory WS6 wheels to 11" and then give them to a professional polisher, they gave me a price of $100.00 for each wheel to polish them completely. Said they would look like new. But then they wouldn't have that factory clear coat or seal on them........

Maybe widen them, then give them to a chrome plating shop. Just hope they get them nice and smooth before plating. I wonder how heavy they would be, they're pretty light from the factory.

Sorry for hijacking your thread OP lol. Chrome plating I saw on calchromes website added a quarter of a pound to stock rims. I always wanted to widen my stockers too but maybe down the road when I have more money to burn. I stripped the clear off my stockers, it looks real good but then again I actually have to polish them once a month now.

It'll cost exactly $600.00 to widen two factory rims to 11" and chrome them all. Not bad really.

Pretty much...I refuse to drive my car when the roads are wet just because of that. I may end up having them either chromed or look into a clear powder coat down the road, but every time I got them wet without being able to clean them resulted in a cloudy finish that had to be polished to make look decent. Don't get me wrong...when clean, they look great, but they are NOT for everyone.
