Default Anyone with Bogarts look inside

I plan on running 26 x 11.5 x 15 ET Streets on my WELDED RT's and am curious if I should Screw the tires to the rims. I dont have tubes. I had to screw my tires to rims when i ran stock rims and ET Sreets because of exesive spinning tires in the rim. Any info would help.

Thanks,

Tony

Tony,

Here's what's happening Tony. The guy who put your ET street on your stock rims might have used grease instead of water solution. The 16 inch ET streets are very hard to pop on the bead on the stock wheels. This happen to me last fall when I had my 16 inch ET streets mounted on stock wheels. The rim would spin inside the wheel all the way around. I took them back, had them take the wheels off the rim and use a soapy solution and the problem was solved. The soapy water solution will evaporate, but grease won't. Take your bogarts to a reputable place and tell them what happen to your other wheels and tires and I'm sure they'll use soap solution not grease. Why would you want to drill $800 worth of wheels (2) anyway? I wouldn't! I have Bogart bolted R/T and they are beautiful. Hope this helps.
BTW- I have never a wheel spin in the wheel on a 10 sec. car w/ 10"x15"x27in tall slicks.

I went 1.50-1.52 on 26x12.5x15 ET Streets and never spun the tires on the rims, but I would not run the slicks lower than 12psi cold.

I typically ran them 14 psi cold.

So far I haven't spun my 26x11.5's on my Bolted R/T's. I'm keeping a close watch on them....

I will be rim screwing my Bogart Welded RT's. I'd rather not have to drill these beautiful new rims but my car cuts consistent 1.3X 60's and I don't want to take any chances, so I will be using rim screws. I run 8.5-9.0 pounds of air in my slicks. I don't use tubes.
