Default 28" tire with 3.73

Would it be a bad idea to put the 28" tire on with 3.73 gears? I am a manual car with a s60. I have 380rwhp and about to add 100-150 shot. I just dont want too big of a tire but I like the look of the 28" tire.

most m6 seem to do fine with 4.10's on a 26" tire I would def. go 4.10's with a 28" tire

Since you're used to the feel of 3.73s' with a 26" tire, putting 28" tires will make it feel like you put 3.42s' in the rear.
Lost 'leverage' to the pavement will reduce 'felt' torque.

i think you will be fine with the 100-150 shot ,my brother just found this out , 28"inch tall on 15s with a 3.73 12 bolt , he makes 380 at the wheels and trapped 114 on stock street tires , it brought him down to 108-109 , the et was better , but with the 100 shot i think you will be good to go .

Depends on your trap speed & power band. You want to gear it so you cross the finish line at your redline rpm. in 4th gear. When I raced my N/A 331 stroker 5.0 mustang, I trapped mid 10's at 125 mph. & was crossing the line at 6,450rpm. I had 4:30 gears & 28" tall tires.
Remember, slicks grow as you accelerate, so your tires get taller as your car goes faster, drag radials do not. To figure your finish line rpm based on the gear ratio of your choice, with slicks, use this formula.
gear ratio x mph at trap x 336 = rpm at finish line.
% tire diameter
You can plug in different gear ratios & tire sizes in order to figure out the best fit for your goals.
