What i'm trying to tell you is that it is very hard to compare the same tire on two different cars. What works on one car may not work another. From my experience, people have mixed results with 555R's... some people's cars can make them work and others swear they are no better than a regular street tire. I'm sure your quite experienced at the local track and the "other local track" , ask around and see what everyone thinks is the best drag radial. Your going to get a handful of different answers. Some will say M/T, Hoosier, Toyo, etc. it all comes down to combination. Just because your car doesn't seem to like 555r's doesn't mean that its a crap tire.
Ha my fenders are about sitting on the tire. Wanna take pics and have a contest who is lower? lol. Anyway I can't remember if my 275's hooked when I first bought them, but I hope these need some "break in"

Mine are sitting on the tire, slightly tucked... Guaranteed mines lower...

my car wouldnt hook for **** when my rear end was on the eibach pro kit and it rode like ****..

I switched to the stock springs with the hose mod and it was a night and day difference. You should try it. It might do the same for you. Lowering the car takes away from the weight transfer the car needs to plant the tires effectively.....

Kidcamaro: definitely can understand where your coming from. Right now I'm running dirt track springs with matching coilover collars. Forgot the spring rate though. I can definitely hook up better with a different spring set up because I know I hit the bumpstops on hoosiers. I just can't get away from the lowered look.

Yes I am thinking I might put the stock springs back on when I go to the drag strip the end of september so I can go for my new PB! Btw I am already doing the heater hose mod with 1" lowering springs lol.
