Staggered Wheels
Hello,
I have a set of 1999 Vette wheels (17x8.5 and 18x9.5) that are going on a Formula. Since it came with the same size tires in all four corners, should I go with 285/30-18 and 245/40-17 instead of the 275/40-18 and 245/45/-17 (that came stock on the Vette wheels) to keep the same diameter? If I don't will it cause ABS issues? Any handling differences?
Thanks for any help,
Bill

ABS Happy:
Keep the tire height the same front and rear, then it'll look like crap because the rear tires have shorter sidewalls.
EYEs Happy:
I'll look great, but the 1" difference in tire height is going to cause some ABS confusion, bad.
IMO, that's why I'll always stick with the same wheel diameter wheels front and rear.
