Depends on the car, but I'm biased.

^^This. I think it depends on the color of the car and the color scheme wanting to be achieved.

I just posted a new thread with my wheels - I believe if it is done right with the right car, black is always in.

That to me is the only way to pull off black wheels. Polished, chorme, or machined lip. Completely blacked out looks bad to me.

I asked this same question when I was ordering my CCW SP500's. Do I go polished, like I've seen alot of alot of other black SS's do, or be different and get the gloss black option? I was contemplating the same thing...if I go with the gloss black option, will my car look outdated within a few years? Or, will everyone say "I know when you got your car, cause everyone was doin that at this time". I decided to go with the gloss black option to be different. Not to say I think the polished look doesnt look good, because I think they look stunning. I just knew once I got my BBK's, it would come together the way I wanted it to look. I share the same opinion with a lot of others on here, I think it depends on the car and wheels that are chosen to be painted/powder coated black. I dont feel that its exactly a cut and dry yes/no question because its appearance is very subjective. The usual answer should apply here, "its your car, as long as you think it looks good and are happy with it"

In some instances yes they are, but with the right color and style of the rims I think they can look great.

I'll join the played-out, tasteless, black wheel wearing ***-hat club

To be honest, they did take a bit of getting used to My previous rims were TT M's (pictured in my sig) They were warped and I got the current ones for an awesome deal, so made the switch.

Ironically, I'm currently stationed in Germany and the Europeans here are just now getting into the black wheel craze. Go figure.
