Why are you telling us what is on the front when they have nothing to do with traction under power.
*sigh* its the same tires on the back just 315s

I know my clutch isn't in tip top shape but i know a bad clutch slip when i feel it, these are BRAND new tires, about 75 miles on them at MOST....

i dont know if there are any differences in a 555 radial and a 555 extreme zr radial or if they are the same thing, but i am running the 555 extreme zr radial (ON ALL 4 CORNERS)

i can tell you if the clutch slipped it didnt slip very much because the car accelerated faster than it ever has before. So much so that i worried about shifting hard into 2nd because of the rear end....

It broke loose when i hit 2nd, and maybe the clutch slipped in first a bit but im telling you the car put me back in my seat like ive never experienced before....

And the title is a bit misleading, there's nothing new about that tire. Lol.
They were new to my discount tire as they never had a STREET tire besides the goodyear gsd3's in a 315 in past years for me, until last month when they said they got these NEW ones in......maybe they were just new to discount

You've gotta be having some kind of clutch problem because when I had my Nitto 555's in 275/40/17 I could skate 1st, 2nd, sometimes in 3rd and I'm just cam only. Even with NT05's I can skate 1st and 2nd.

There's also something a miss here because there is absolutely nothing new about 555's. I have magazines years and years old with 555 Nitto ads on them.

Damn it, why can't these tire companies make a 255/50/16?? Seriously pissed about that!

I have 16" ZR1 wheels, that I happen to like, but damn my tire choices are severely limited.

Well i have them in a 315 and there was just a thread on here of a guy putting a 335 on a 18 inch rim so i would think a 315 would fit you....

In fact im gonna try and put these in a 315 on my GF's 10.5 inch 18's next....if they have the 18 that is, i havent checked yet

I dont know man, it didnt slip too much because the car ******* BOLTED out of that roll, i also have about 120lbs of stereo right over the back tires so that could be making a difference.

And i am running a 315 which is significantly bigger than a 275, and my rims would be MUCH heavier than anything with a 275 on it i would think....

Just telling you guys my experience and im VERY happy with these tires....BUT we will see how they can take the new monster stage 3 (probably not at all)

tread rating is 300. I dont see any light car with 400rwhp dead hooking on true street tires. I know people who spin the 555Rs like they are driving in the rain. The new NT05 and NT05R are supposed to be considerably better. The 555 series nittos are OLD.

Hey OP, What all suspension mods have been done to the car? I have seen some wicked cars hook decent on street tires because of the suspension mods done to the car. And also to the OP, Thanks for the input on the tires, I was considering these tires for a street setup for my car.

Not much, subframes, LCA's and relocation brackets.

Default We will see ???

I will be putting the same tires on my car tomorrow, except 285's in back and 275's in front, 17" stock rims. They will also be the Nitto 555 zr's.. Basically the street version. My car makes approx 400 rwhp with a 3400 stall, right now any 1rst gear roll punch incinerates the tires all thru 1rst and then most of 2nd.., by the way they are worn firestone firehawks on it now... I will test the theory with the new shoes and report back..

Default 555's are on----but...

Got my new 555 zr's installed, but unfortunately cannot put them to the test yet due to inclement weather. Hopefully after it clears up and i get the tires broken in a bit i can report back on their performance....

Default Did some testing..

Gotta chance to do some 1rst gear punches on the new Nittos.. They do not dead hook, but definitely are a huge improvement over my worn out firestone firehawks.. Now it burns out while trying to gain traction and then actually bogs a little and grabs either just before 2nd gear or right at the shift.. I can see these grabbing even better in some warmer weather and a little more break in time on them.. Tires are pretty quite and ride nice so far.... I like the way the 285's look in the back and 275's out front, gives it a bit more meat in the back and looks really good on the stock rims.. I would say that for a street rated tire they probably will hook as good as any other or better, especially in their price range... I will try to post some pics in the next day or so....

Default pics of new nittos 555's,(285 rears, 275 fronts)

I know some of u wanted to see what the nittos looked like on the car, so i took some pics of them.. 285/40/17 on the rears and 275/40/17's on the front. And by the way since the tires have broken in a little bit and its been a little warmer here lately, the tires actually almost dead hook in first gear punches.. Very happy with the traction improvement so far... No more tire incineration like my old tires..
