Default Rubbing w/275/40/17 on PASS front only!?!?

Well went and test fitted my buddies TTII's on my front to see where I rub because I had a feeling I would somewhere. And sure enough. I rub on the passenger side. Same exact size I plan on running 275/40/17 17x9.5

Doesnt rub at all on the driver side, just clears it perfectly.. Here are the spots that it knicks on the passenger front.

Should I beat the wheel well in that spot? What about the part with the GFX? Any way around it..or Do I have to take off the front gfx??

Car was also involved in a minor accident where it rear ended a vehicle..or so carfax report said

Last year I was in reverse leaving my storage unit and there is a dip. I didnt realize how close I was to it and ended up bottoming out the front. Pushed my front passenger GFX off a bit and the front of my pass side. I dont know if that had to do with the rubbing or not?

you need to get under the car and check for frame/k-member/control arm damage.... that's definitely not right!

Anyone know if the offset of a 17x9.5 TTII would be a factor at all? If it wasnt for driver side and with the problem I am having on passenger side is it a possibilty? My plan was to run 17x9.5 C6 Z06 gunmetal..and they are a 54 or 56mm offset

Listen to what this guy told you. if its only on one side either you have frame damage or there was and a body panel isn't aligned right.

Was this car in a collision before? Report to post #2. My guess would be it was it some kind of accident before.

Mine t/a rubs too with stock wheels, but on both passenger and drivers side. It rubs in a section near the top of your picture.

I run 275/40/17 on replica ZR1 rims, tons of space, never any running. It's a stock size technically for the SS cars so it should not come close to rubbing.

So then I would just need to get an alignment and should be set? I can crawl up under and check for damage..pretty sure I took pics when I bring my car to work for an oil change. Snapped alot of pics of the undercarriage..have to find those pics.

If you're lucky, it may just be an alignment issue. But I would definitely look everything over because it doesn't sound right.

I know I shouldn't but thinking about getting an alignment soon then retest fitting if I don't find anything while under vehicle. Only bad thing is my tires up front measure 3.32nds" and out back 4.32nds" so I don't know how effictive it would be?

Your caster is out of spec. It's set too far forward. If all the components and bushing are good then you just need an alignment. This adjustment is made with that large nut on the rear of the lower control arm where it mounts to the K member.

Is your steering wheel centered?

There have been a few rare occasion where the welds for the lower control arms pull out, I would inspect them.
