The future of sidewalls...
I work for Bridgestone and this was discussed quite a bit today and I dont know what the hell to think of it.
So the idea is the customer can have anything they want printed onto the sidewall of the tire from rainbows, unicorns, midgets, paul walker...anything!
What do you guys think of this idea?

Definitely a dumb idea. Put more resources into the performance of the tire rather than some stupid printer that can print stuff on the sidewall. I am sure something like this would catch on in certain markets but in the performance world this will be a huge joke.

Not diggin it. Honestly not very practical. Makes me think you might as well have the sidewalls coated in a chalkboard like substance so girls under the age of 12 can color what ever they want on them with the over sized sidewalk chalk! White letter sidewalls left the car world a long time ago, they had their place, but no longer fit. I dont think these would look right either. Maybe ok in the racing world as well, just another place to put sponsor stickers visible during photo ops and pit sessions, LOL. I like that they are trying to be creative, but also would rather see it put into even higher performing tires/creative tread patterns.
