Default Stickiest street tire?

Who make the stickiest rear street tire. I am not worried about wear as it is driven only on weekends. I have Nitto's DR's in 315 on it now.

They have the DOT stamp but it also has NOT FOR HIGHWAY USE molded into the sidewall.so a cop could still write you for them.

hoosier, MT, or M&H. cant go wrong with any

i personally prefer M&H, currently running 325/40/18's with +/- 600 rwhp/tq and a T56 with zero traction problems. ill have a review with a couple hundred more hp shortly

How wide of a rear wheel are you running with these? What's your suspension look like? These tires are over 28"!

I ran them last year in 275 40 17 & it wasnt that hard at all to spin them, even at the track they broke loose. For a DR theyre pretty good though. I just put some ET street bias plys on mine & those or Hoosier QTP bias are gonna be the stickiest street tire.

You can't compare a 17" Drag radial to a 15" Bias. I will tell you, my car 60's just as well on 15" Drag Radials as it did on ET Drags before, and traps 2 MPH faster. Even if it didn't, stability at 160+ MPH is worth the switch.

18x10.5. M&H's run a little narrow so they fit well. Rear suspension is nothing special; midwest t/a, DA chromoly LCA's, comp eng three way shocks (****). soon to upgrade the shocks and rear sway bar. dont get me wrong, they arent holding a 5500 2step launch in boost with a manual trans, i have slicks for that. but other than that no issues. as far as getting them to fit, i had to do lots of hammering and cutting for my 28x1050x15 et drags, and even more for these. not recommended if you are scared of swinging a hammer at your car.

you still running a manual Travis? I can never get my car too hook at the track on radials, spins them there worse than the street. i wish i had the suspension and more importantly the patience to dial it in. too easy to throw slicks on it and let her eat, saves the clutch too. you get used to the swaying but its still unnerving at 140-150+ especially when you come off the throttle

Your car is looking great Ryan... It's been a while since I've seen it!
I'm still rowing gears, probably always will be. Go QA-1 in the rear with a bag and BMR rear drag bar, and she'll launch. I saw a 1.29 60' on the 325 Radials. I'm at -2.7 Pinion angle on the reloc Spohn D/A, and Hal Coils and QA-1 D/A up front. My biggest issue is keeping the front end down, as the track temps change, the game changes. It's going to be a whole new learning curve with the 454, it makes wicked torque down low, so the out of the hole nitrous launches may be a thing of the past. We all need to get together soon!

I'd run a M&H 325/50/17. They seem to do the best as an all around street/track tire.

If you want a similar tire the MT ET Street II's (radials) in a 315/40/17 work well also.

Of course a set of 15" wheels and a set of Hoosier 275/60's would be my #1 choice though. For a greasy hot summer track the Hoosiers with their softer sidewall are working better than the new M/T pro's as the M/T has a stiffer sidewall. On a perfect track the M/T's seem to have a slight advantage as does anything stiffer on a perfect track.

This is true as I found out today, damn rear end was dancing around in the back half.
