Default Question about center caps on 10 spokes

Is the factory center on 10-spokes plastic or is it some type of metal. I'm looking to get a set for my third-gen, (yes I know I need adapters), and I would like to polish and then do the accent colors on the inside of the spokes, kinda like the third-gens had back in the day. But I'm unsure if I'll be able to do that cause I don't know what material the center caps are made out of???? Any help would be great.

They're chromed plastic, at least on my chrome 10-
spokes. Dunno about regular. SLP sells them and you
also find them on eBay pretty regularly. Come in plain
chrome, bowtie and "SS". The markings appear semi-
durable but I try not to rub them when cleaning.

Is the center cap on the 35th's the same, I seem to remember those being machined for some reason, or am i think of something else?

If they are plastic thats not going to help me at all in being able to polish them.

Thanks Jimmy.
