Youll be fine, Im currently running 275/40-17 all the way around with no issues, and plan on going either 285 or 295 all the way around next time I get tires. Neither should have clearance issues, and my car sits quite low.
Some autocross guys run 305's all the way around.

I had 285/40/17 up front once, on a set of 9.5" wide Torque Thrusts. It definitely rubbed pretty badly, catching the lip of the bumper cover where it meets the wheel well liner. I had to drop back down to a 275 tire as the rubbing was too bad to leave it alone.
But that was with the aggressive offset of TT2s (45 or 46mm, can't remember which) and Goodyear D3s - which usually run bigger than other brands of the same size.
