I voted chrome. People kill me with that, "Chrome looks cheap" crap. One person says it and then everyone thinks the same thing too. Here's a set of CCWs that received some chrome love. Tell me how cheap these look...

You have probably THE best looking set of wheels that can be put on an F-Body, and they look their BEST in a high polished state of course, BUT I know how sucky upkeep is on them. I believe the effort should be put into it.

Polish and clear coat is the way to go, or powder-coat. Chrome is good until it cracks or peels which is inevitable because of different expansion rates of chrome and Al. Then the sucky part is refinishing as there is only one option...strip/re-chrome. That's why the default finish of my high end wheels are polished, not to mention chrome is hella expensive not cheap by any standard, but in all ways inferior as a wheel finish.

But if it cracks/peels/flakes or anything else, it is still a lot costlier job to repair than a polished clear coated wheel. Sure you can do a get by chrome repair, but once it is damaged it is very difficult to fix short of stripping and re-plating. Biggest problem with chrome is that in order for it to continue to look good, it requires more frequent washing to keep contaminants such as brake dust and other contaminants from eating through it.

After owning some I agree polishing them sucks very much. I loved them but hated to have to clean them if they got dirty or wet. I love CCW's quality, customer service, pricing, and reliability and that's why I got a set for my vette but swore I would never get a set of polished wheels again. People done understand the amount of work it takes to polish them correctly unless its a garage Queen. Satin black was a option along with brushed aluminum but I decided on competition grey. If I were you I would chrome them.

It's not about be a lazy ***. Sometimes you just want to enjoy the car. I used to wash my car and then polish the wheels 1-2 times a week and more if they got dirty. It's just became a pain in the *** to keep doing that.
Clearing them is another option as well as powder coating them.

Honestly i dont think chrome looks cheap at all, I have had chrome wheels on my truck for almost 3 years now, no chrome has peeled and no rust has came up, and I dont even have to be waxing them or nothing, my truck is always garage kept but I drive it everysinglr day for college and work and wheels still look great! I guess if your car is exposed to too much rain and sun again and again they will start to peel ad rust as few of my friends chrome wheels have.
