FWIW I ran 35 on my old car and got good life out of those tires, although they were the stock 16" wheels. I'll have to play with it a little when I get my new wheels and tires for my current car (planning on 275/40/17 on all 4 corners most likely). The 32/30 sounds like a good starting point.

When I first got my 98 the tires that were on it were pumped up to 45 PSI. That was one harsh ride and didn't help traction on the already worn-out tires at all

Ill have to try that out soon. I have really never set none of my tires over 30~32psi soo I wouldnt know how harsh it is, but I can imagine on crappy roads and country roads the feel of the ride will be really harsh. Lol... Since you drive mostly on the highway it shouldnt be bad at all. Interesting topic.

Yea mostly highway makes a difference, I doubt my mpg is any different city wise and another note to make I guess is at 36psi I haven't notices much difference from when its at 38, I only maintain the solid 38 when its cold to allow for the air condensing and I don't have to constantly keep check, summer time I maintain 36 to 38

For Nitto drags in the rear, 25 psi. Street tires up front, 30 psi

If you have too much air in the nittos in the rear, they will look like this:

That was when I had 30 psi in the rear for the nittos, I run them at 25 now and am getting even wear.

Agreed.

Competition tires will require special pressure considerations (depending on the type of tire and usage) that differ from normal street tires.

Also, tires that are somewhat oversized for the wheel they are mounted on will require special consideration (needing lower pressure than would be ideal for tires perfectly matched to the wheel width).

When I ran 555r's I always wore out the center regardless of psi. One set I DD'd at 17psi and it wore the center out, the next set I asked nitto their recommended pressure on the street and they said 26, still wore the center out.

Have to take a pic of how my last nitto set is lasting, probably have about 10,000 miles on them now.

Normally 30-35 range seems to be ideal for these cars. It can vary based upon your exact setup. I would try 30, 32 and 35 psi and see what feels best for you.
