Nitto NT05 or NT05R?

Nitto NT05 or NT05R? I have a 98 camaro A4 with 469 rwhp and 437 rwtq and eventually I will be spraying a 100-150 shot. It is not a daily driver and will see occasional track time but mostly it will be street driven but never in the rain. If I go with the NT05 it will be have to be a 335/30/19 size and if I go with the NT05R it will be a 345/30/19. Obviously the NT05R would be the best choice for traction but since they cost over $400 per tire (I would only be getting them for the rear) would it really be worth it considering the tread life and the fact that I'm not 100% sure they will fit without rubbing or scraping. I do have rolled fenders and the wheel size in the rear is 11in wide.
I was in the same boat a few days ago. I went with the 335 just due to the height being shorter and closer to the front. I'm runnin 12" wheels though, 345 may be to wide on the 11". Tires should be here Friday. I'll post some pics and reviews

Hmmm that sounds like a good idea. I think I'm just going to have to go with the NT05R because I'm pretty sure I won't hook with the NT05s since they are really just a street tire.

why would you need to purchase taller fronts? You can just get NT05r for the rear to match what you have already.

Verdad Gallardo In running 19x12 in the rear. The only nitto nt05r available is 345-30-19. That's almost 2" taller than my front 285-35-18. I would have to change to a taller tire in the front 285-40(45)-18 to run 345. This is a fbody. Cannot have a difference of more than an inch front to rear.
ah yes, I agree with you if you are running such a large rim. Are you sure you are not running a 285-35-18? Nitto doesn't make that size, at least currently, If you ran a 275-40-18 in front your OD would be 26.57 which would be about .79" difference than the 345s

Ok well I think I have come to the final decision to run NT05R 345/30/19 in the back and NT05 275/35/19 in the front. Question is....will I have fitment issues with the 345s in the rear?? I have rolled fenders and I have 305s on right now that fit real easy
