17x7 Race star fronts. What skinnies?
I am getting a set of 17x7 and 17x9.5 race stars.
I will be running ET streets on the back and want a bias ply tire on the front, but don't look like there is one available that is slightly wider than the 185's.
What are you running on the front and hows it feel at the topend with those slicks?
TIA

215/50-17 is the ideal size for a 17x7. Don't think you'll find a tire lighter than 19 lbs in that size area though. Continental makes some in that size that work well but are normal radials. I don't think I know of any biased ply's that wide. You could always go with one of these and a softer sidewall DR like a Hoosier

Sorry to be a downer, but you've really limited yourself on optimum tire selection with those wheels being a six speed car. At least you'd want to run a 27-28" soft sidewall drag radial, and I don't think such a tire is offered anywhere. As you know a biased ply set would be ideal but they don't exist either.
I think I'd sell those and run a 17x4.5 or 15x3.5/15x10 combo instead.

Mounted them last night and they look great. I MAY stick some 315/35 Mickeys on there and just see how they hook since I already have them.
Then, some 215/50r17s on the front. I will update with results.
I have the race Baer brake setup, so 15's are out of the question.
