New Tires: TT-Ms 17x9/17x10.5???
I know.. another tire thread. I have been reading and looking at pics for days. I cannot come up with a solution. I have bought wheels and tires for many cars and some are easy, but some just give me a hard time getting the perfect combo. This Camaro is giving me trouble.
You would think this is easy, just get 275/40/17s for the front 17x9 wheels. Then get 315/35/17s for the 17x10.5 wheels. I wanted the Nitto NT555Rs in the rear, but they run narrow (thought would help limit modifying the car). The sidewall does not bulge at all on the 17x10.5 wheel. Problem is the 275/40/17 has sidewall bulge on a 17x9 wheel in the front.
You can see how narrow the 315 NT555R is on a 17x10.5 wheels from this picture of a Cobra I had. I ended up putting 245/45/17s on the front to make it look better, but it made the front look stretched.
***I want the rear tires to have equal or more bulge than the front tires. I want the rear tires to have equal or more diameter than the front tires. I dislike tires that looked stretched. I also hate when front tires look bigger than the rear tires. Different brands run differently, so advice would be appreciated.
What solutions have the **** tire choosers come up with? 255/40/17s on the front? Will that help the NT555R look better? Find narrow 275/40/17s?

I just got the TTm's 17/9-10.5 with 2454517 an 3153517 all four nitto 555 street radials but dont have them on the car yet. Should have them on by friday and will get ya some pics if its not too late. Do you do enough track racing to really need the drag radials?? If your more **** about the looks like i am i would just go with the regular 555's.... Just my two cents.

Run the NT05R or the Toyo TQ drag radial on the back. They don't run narrow and actually provide more grip than the 555R. You can then get a matching front set of 275/40-17s NT05s or Toyo Proxes 1 for the "look" to be complete. Each tire would be on a half-inch smaller than ideal rim, so the bulge would be equivalent (as would the tread patterns).

1. Nitto NT05R 315/35/17 / Nitto NT05 275/40/17
2. Toyo TQ DR 315/35/17 / ?
Might just pull the trigger on the NT05s. I will research the size difference between the 315/35/17 NT05 vs. NT05R.
Can't read the tire size! Looks like minimal bulge, which is good with the 555Rs on the back having minimal bulge. 255/40/17 or 275/40/17?
