Default mixing bias ply and radials?

Many times I've heard horror stories about the car being unstable at the big end when running slicks (bias ply) on the rear and radials on the front. What does the car tend to do, and how is it made better by running a bias-ply in the front too?

Not advisable.

Well, I can't tell you why they act that way, but the rear end sways a lot and causes a very unstable feeling at higher speeds. It's tolerable with my 17" ET streets, but I would never advise it nor run the combo again.

I'm going to 15" Bogarts with the New MT DR in the rear.

I guess what I don't understand is how it supposedly gets better by also running a bias-ply in the front? I can understand instability based on just the soft wall slicks no matter what front tire you run.

Matched tires always perform the best and in great harmony.
