6Liter vs. OE Wheels / Strano Springs
1. Why are OE Wheels 18" C6 Z06 Wheels (Black) so much less expensive then the 6liter 09 Z06 Spyder Replicas (Black)? Am i missing something but there is a $400.00+ difference in cost.
2. My car has the stock 16 x 8 wheels. My intentions are to drop some Strano Springs in the car. My question is what offset wheel should i be looking at? Am I going to have rubbing issues with a 18" x 8.5 (56MM) or 18" x 9.5 (40mm or 56mm)?
My goal is to get the biggest wheel and tire combo i can with no rubbing and not having to modify the fenders at all.
3. Does anyone else sell the 18" Black z06 wheels besides OE as i see they are out of stock?
4. What is the largest sized tire i can get to fit with this set up without rubbing?
Thanks,
D

I'm not trying to hate on oe wheels but from personal experience of owning wheels from both places the gloss black spyders I bought from 6le are much better quality than the oe wheels I purchased. The spyders felt like a much better built wheel and have held up to daily driving for almost three years and have not chipped or scratched. My deep dish z06 wheels starting chipping and scratching pretty bad after just a few months. Just my .02 cents, spend the extra money on the 6le wheels, they hold up much better and have a better finish from my experience.
I run 18x9.5 all around with 56mm offset on my ss and lowered on bmr springs and have no rubbing problems.

http://www.factoryreproductions.com makes most if not all the reproduction Corvette wheels you see out there, there are a LOT of middleman who just mark up costs and sell under their own name...

Ours come from Factory Reproductions as well. We buy to order so don't get the same discount others do. We chose them over others because we were able to drive out and see the quality in person.
I had a certain mentioned company's wheels on my 1995 Trans Am and wasn't happy with them either. This was year's ago so I have no clue about quality now but back then it took a RIDICULOUS amount of weights to get them balanced and even then it still rode weird.
When I found FR I put them on my car I was MUCH happier despite the higher price and became a vendor...
