You should be able to custom order the rally wheel in what ever backspace you want. I did it on a set of the Street lites before.

Does anyone have, or have pictures, of a 4th Gen with a 15x10 7.25 back spacing wheel? I google searched it last night, and a thread came up on here, but I'd like to see if anyone else is running this back spacing on a 15x10 wheel. Where I found the Billet Specialties Rally wheels (wheels for less) I doubt they can do custom orders.

Edit: Here is the thread I was referring to.

Those 15s are going to require grinding your caliper. Not a bolt on solution.

I'm just going to go with the Street Lites; 17x8 in a 5.5 back spacing and 17x11 in a 7 3/4 back spacing and ordering them from Midwest Chassis. I PM'd them yesterday and they gave me a great price for the wheels, center caps, lugs, stems, etc.

Swoop, you posted in another thread of mine and suggested the 7 3/4 back spacing, as that is what you had, correct? I think I remember you saying that the 7 1/2 back spacing wasn't optimal because it made the wheel stick out some.

Yes 7 3/4 is what I had and it fit great. I wouldn't go with a 7 1/2 on a 11" wheel myself.

Thanks, I really appreciate your help. Midwest Chassis can hook me up the Street Lites in that back spacing.

As far as tires go, I'm going with these for the rears: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

And these for the fronts: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Anyone got input on these selections?

The Toyos are fine.

I'd stay away from Shititumo.

Get the BFG Comp-2 or order Nittos from Discount Tire Direct... no shipping costs there.

Jake, what size on the fronts would you go with. I know I want a 245, but not sure if I should go 245/40/17 or 245/45/17. Which size would be better with the Toyos?

245/45-17 is the same height as a 275/40 or 315/35. All 25.6" tall.

That second number is the aspect ratio. A 245/45 is no taller than a 315/35. They both sit on a 17" rim and the total height is the same. It's just the ratio of sidewall to section width. The 45 indicates that this tire size's sidewall height (from rim to tread) is 45% of its section width.

245mm*.45 = 110.25mm
315mm*.35= 110.25mm

There is nothing wrong with the sumitomo htrz 3 i have those on my stock wheels and i have driven through rain and even snow with them with no problem. Even cut a 1.9 60' on them with my bolt on 6 speed car. I have nitto nt555 on my front 17s now and i would say the sumitomos are just as good if not better. The crappy sumis are the htrz 2

I would stay away from any Sumitomo or Kumho.

I've had Kumho come apart with full tread on the tire. And I know of people who had Sumitomos come apart and put them in the ditch.

Thanks Jake. I'll get 245/45/17 for the fronts and 315/35/17 for the rears.

I think I found the tires I'm going to run.

Dunlop Direzza DZ101 245/45/17's up front and Nitto NT05R Drag Radials 315/35/17's out back. I can get them with free shipping at Discount Tire Direct for the same price as the Sumitomo's and Toyos from another site where they charge shipping. I think the Dunlop/Nitto combo will be better than the Sumitomo/Toyo combo.

Might as well save a couple lbs and save a couple bucks on these on closeout in the process, these are good tires...

I've got those exact tires on my CCW's right now. You are right; they are good tires and I've been very pleased with them.

One more question about the back spacing on the 17x11 Billet Specialties Street Lites. Is there going to be a difference in the amount of "lip" between a 7 1/2 back spacing, as opposed to a 7 3/4 backspacing?

1/4" an inch... And it will stick out past the fender.

So the lip on the 7 1/2 back spacing 17x11 wheel will have a bigger lip by 1/4 inch over the 7 3/4 back spacing 17x11? I've seen both back spacings run on the 17x11 BS wheels; actually more run the 7 1/2 back spacing than the 7 3/4 from what I've seen.

It's a quarter inch difference...
