Help me choose between two tire setups
First off let me say I hate tire shopping. Second, need some help. I've been trying to decide between two tires, the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Positions and the BFG Rivals. I feel like the Bridgestones would suit me better because while my camaro isn't a DD, it does get driven a few days a week. Sometimes more sometimes less, and that goes for all year round. So while obviously these tires won't do well in the winter, the rivals seem like they are a more extreme tire and need more heat in them. I try to avoid rain the best I can, but for off chance I do get caught in one of NC's ridiculous monsoons I don't want to hydroplane everywhere. The Bridgestone will be much better in the rain. But from everything I've read, the rivals are an extremely grippy and well handling tire when it's dry.
Anyway, it seems like the Bridgestones would be the better option right? Well my only problem is they only go up to a 285/35/18,and I run a 295 on a 10.5" rim. I had 275's before and they looked awful, very stretched. So I'm concerned about how a 285 would look. The Bridgestones would be cheaper, and they have 10/32 of tread compared to 7/32 on the rivals so they should last a bit longer which is important. I have Nitto invos currently and I hate them. Anyone have some opinions or ideas? Pictures of 285s on a 10.5" rim?
