Alright guys I needs some help. I have a 2000 Camaro. it was a v6 when I bought it but I dropped a Corvette LS1 in it and did all kinds of work under the hood. not important. I know absolutely nothing about tires. The care came with 225/60/16's all the way around and I want something wider. I also want to offset the front from the back to give it a little better stance. iv been lookin up tire sizes and I found 255/60/16's for the back and and 255/50/16s for the front. upon further research I found 265/70/16's for the back in which I would put 255/60/16's on the front. I am so confused as to what I should do. I don't want to jeopardize the handling of the car or anything and I still want it to be safe if that makes sense but I want it to look good...more intimidating with the wider tires. What do u guys think I should do?
Factory tires for many 4th gen cars were 245/50/16s. They're pretty wide. HOWEVER, the major tire companies are now phasing out the performance 16" tires, just like they did with the 15s, several years ago.
You may want to consider stepping up to at least a 17" rim, if you have the money.

Dude, the 265/70 and a 255/60 are almost a small truck sized tire. They will be enormous. The 265/70 is like a 30" tall tire, the stock tire is around 25.5" tall. I don't even think that would fit in the wheel well.
The factory size that came on a 16" tire, if your car came with Z rated tires from the factory, which would also give you a 150mph speedo was a 245/50/16. Stick around that size, and you'll be good. You could go to a 255/50/16, and still be pretty damn close to the factory size.
Look on ebay and craigslist and you should be able to find the tires you need.
