Default MT radial IIs ?

Of the guys running drag radials, have any of you used the Mickey Thompson drag radial IIs. Ive run the regular MT drag rads, but in my 17" rim diameter the only one that will fit my 9.5" rim is the 275-40-17s. They offer a 295-45-17 in the II that is a little over an inch taller and a half inch wider, 26 to 27.1 and 10 to 10.6". The extra tire patch would be nice, but I don't think the extra inch would do much harm to the final drive ratio.
So, anyone run them or know if they are the same compound?

So split the difference and it's only 1/2" taller....you should be good.

Looking at the website for them both...both are shown as R2 compound

But, no...never ran them (the II's)

Never ran them but my cousin ran sportman pros on the back and got the same 60' as his slicks... only problem is he was launching so hard the sportman pros wrinkled and were slipping on the rims. We only made a few passes with them to see how the car ran on street tires.

Runnin' IIs here...265/40/18
So far they've hooked to a 1.78 sixty at 32psi and I run them all the time on
the street. Surprisingly good the few times I was caught in the rain as well.

My buddy in my club runs the 2's (295/50/16) on his 68 Chevelle. They seem to work great. So far has been a 1.66 60 foot with them.
