Anything larger than a 275 really starts to get unnecessary for these cars anyway. Plenty of insanely fast cars out there on 10.5" tires and 275's. Sure, it looks cool, but in reality tires are just more expensive and it slows you down with the additional rotating weight.
Sure you could run good times on a narrower tire, but f bodys need a wider wheel/tire combo in the back that sits flush with the fenders to look good. I think it looks goofy with stock width wheels and tires. You gotta have that meat back there.

Been looking for a set of not trashed/not asinine expensive 96-00 WS6 rims for it as replacements for a few years. Havent come across much.

Yep. 17x11s with 315 DR's. Looks great, but theyre heavy as sin and make the car ride noticeably worse. Then there's the limited clearance near the bumpstops which makes jacking up the car so much fun lol.

I haven't noticed any difference in ride quality when I swapped out my ws6 wheels for my tt2s..
The older style ws6 wheels look great but they aren't wide enough to my likings, and I refuse to run a spacer.

My 17x11 and 315s are lighter than my WS6 wheels and 275s. Not by a lot, but it is a few pounds.
The thing a 315 does it is creates a lot more understeer. So the car seems to push in corners.
The upside is it looks badass and with drag radials, it creates plenty of traction on the street.

The understeer is annoying. The car also follows grooves in the roads. That and the heavy wheels are starting to take their toll on my suspension parts. Wheel bearings, shocks, ect.
I'll hook up fine with 275 drag radials.
