A couple questions first.....Is your car at stock ride height or lowered? In order to fit the max width tires without rubbing, the rear axle has to be centered under the car as closely as possible, at ride height. Are you prepared to buy an adjustable panhard bar, if you don't already have one? What kind of "max width" tires are you looking for, drag tires or street/road course?

1) The max "safe" width tire for stock 16x8 wheels is 255. You could probably get away with a 275 in the rear if you're not pushing the car too hard , but the sidewalls of the tire will bulge and it looks goofy to some people. Not recommended.
2) This question is too vague. There are too many variations in size and possibilities to give 1 answer. What wheel were you thinking about?
3) Yes they will. Direct bolt on.
4) OEM C6 wheels will fit generally if you use a 1" wheel adapter/spacer in the rear.
