Default Hoosier DR's compound difference?

I've got my mind set on two different Hoosier drag radials that I'll be using for some daily driving. The only thing is, I'm confused a bit on what the compound difference is between them?

Here are the two choices:

http://www.jegs.com/i/Hoosier/522/17100QT/10002/-1

http://www.jegs.com/i/Hoosier/522/17315/10002/-1

I've tried searching Hoosier's website to see which one is softer/stiffer then the other, but no luck. Like any other drag radial, I'll be using the tires to drive around on the street, but want them to hook good whenever I need them too .

Any input is appreciated!

The Quick Time DOT Drag Tires #17100QT is not a radial. It's a bias ply, wrinkle wall tire. The D.O.T. Drag Radials is a true radial and will have a stiffer sidewall and better ride quality. I have the drag radial on my car, but I wouldn't run them for daily driving, you will wear them out quickly just driving around. I have approx. 2500 street miles, a couple burnouts, and races on them and the tires are half worn out.The M/T drag radial wears a lot better and lasts longer for street use.

Thanks Robsz28 for the info, I had no idea it was a bias-ply tire.

I'm also looking at the Hoosier QTP's. I like how the Hoosier tires are almost 10lbs lighter then the M/T DR's. But heard nothing but good things about the M/T's. Tough decision to make....

As stated, anything "Quick time" is bias ply. I had the Hoosier DR on my Vette and loved it. They are lighter because Hoosier uses all glass belts where as M/T uses steel. As for a DD, I wouldn't use the Hoosier but for a track tire it can not be beat. It will hook on pretty much any surface and has a soft sidewall than any other DR out there. You can air them down to about 15 lbs. with out an issue. Once I get a set of rear drag rims I will be running the 26" Hoosier DR.

Awesome, good to know. Since I'll probably be using the tire for 80% street and 20% stip, I think I'll end up going with the M/T DR's. The hoosier sound like they hook well but looks limited on traction wise and probably wear out faster for my use. Thanks guys

Good information found here.
I have tried Nittos: NT555R,NT05R (315 35 17- ZR1 rim) MT drag radial (275 50 15 - Bogart rim). Was not impressed by either one.
I will now try these HOOSIER 17315 (275 50 17) on my 15" Bogarts.
I hope this is a softer compuond compared with the other brands.

Just to throw it out there since it was mentioned the opposite, the QTP rides awesome and is very comfortable on the street, more comfortable than my MTs were. Radial does not mean better ride quality. Also, Hoosier DRs are as close to a slick as you can get I'm told because they are like a bias ply apparently but still radial.
