Default Anyone have a pic of twisted 5 spoke wheels in chrome?

I'm thinking of getting my stock wheels chrome plated for two reasons. I'll save money short term by not having to buy new wheels, and long term since 16" tires are generally cheaper than 17" and up. But I think it'd look at least a little nicer.

Problem is, I can only find one low-res picture on Google images, of a single wheel. Anyone have a picture of what they look like in chrome and actually on a car?

Yes, my Firebird came with them from the previous owner. I switched them out for Firehawk wheels but kept them for quite a while to use as spares or for road trips. Pics:

By the time you spend the money to have them chrome plated, you might be able to get yourself a set of 17" WS6 rims with tires...just a thought.

I agree. I was never a fan of the twisted 5 spokes, but some people like 'em. I think they look great on stock-ish 4th gen Camaros. The thing I liked most about them was the fact that they were 16x8 wheels and fairly light weight. Lost 1-2 MPG by switching to 17x9 Firehawk wheels. A friend of mine ran a 255 MT ET Street Radial on his 16" twisted 5 spokes and was cutting excellent 60' times.

I think its a bad call, chrome plating is not cheap at all, not to mention you can find chrome ones prob under 400. I know for a fact getting wheels chromed will cost more than that, imo ditching the stock wheels n springs is the best looking mods you can do,17 inch tires are pretty cheap if you want something thats just a tire, 315 sumosuckos are real cheap, its your call but i would take a set of chrome zr1s with a 11 inch rear anyday over 16 inch stockers

Are you guys smoking crack? It's like $120 per wheel for plating.

I'll definitely check prices before I actually get it done. And once I'm allowed to post in the classifieds, I'll have a look there too. Didn't think I'd find anything though given how hard it was just to find pictures.

I might even be willing to sell you my 17" WS6 wheels with tires, I never use them anymore and I live 20 minutes from you.

Depending on what kind of quotes I get for the chrome plating, I might take you up on that.

Good call. Personally, I think twisties are ugly, chrome or not. I've never understood why GM took a great basic wheel design and twisted them up.

I actually think they look great, especially now that I've seen them in chrome. To each his own I guess.

To put it bluntly...chroming those is the same as covering a turd in glitter. Sure its shiny, but its still a turd. My honest opinion.

Well yeah, if you don't like them to begin with then I wouldn't expect you to like them in chrome either. Kind of a pointless thing to say...
