Default Got my O.E Wheels Installed with Suspension Work.

Well I didnt finish it all up but most of the stuff. Yesterday i installed my BMR Spring and just rear Bilstein Shocks, couldn't do my fronts since i needed the perch and thought i would be able to transfer it from the originals but i was wrong. So front suspension is just BMR springs. The rims are C5 Deep Dish with Rivets 18X9.5 Fronts and 18X10.5 Rears. Tires are Federal 595 RS-R 265/35/18 Fronts and 285/30/18 Rears.

They run a tad wide for what they are. They were also a PITA to put in due to them having a really stiff sidewall. Also the wheel in the rear had to have the center grinded down a bit to fit over the hub they would not fit on properly. Since there not reverse mount either most tire shops did not want to touch them because they were afraid they would damage the rims. One shop did damage my right front wheel so i had to take it to another shop that was more experienced. I still have to do some other suspension work on the car but i got a long way to go till she is finished. I put a before and after of the side profile.

Looks great but I would of done the rear tire in a 35 series rather a 30. Either way it's a big improvement over the salad shooters!

I do agree. Bad thing is as soon as i get what i wanted installed started getting my tranny grinding when im in gear or not and although it was an off and on problem it was full blown on problem for the past couple of days. Cant figure out if the tranny is going out or it has something to do with the clutch since the guy i bought it from a while ago installed it himself. Just feels like its not engaging when im especially coming to a stop and go into neutral and coast it, it will many of the times starting grinding like something is loose kinda a circular rattle of something large followed by a grind if i go into gear.

I posted in your other thread but I figured I would go ahead and post in this one also.

You can use the spring seats and the plastic spring isolators from your factory shocks on the Bilsteins without any issue. You need to get the shock by itself and pull the bump stop/dust boot off, you will see a gold colored cap on the top part of the shock which you can tap off with a hammer. Once that is done you can use a hammer and tap the metal spring seat off towards the top of the shock and install them on the Bilsteins.

Thank you guys for the advice. I did try hard to pull off the perch from the shocks that were on the car and transfer them but the problem was were the perch sat on the shock was smaller diameter as you go in either direction to pull off the perch it would have no chance because the diameter of the shock got bigger and perch had no chance coming off in either direction. I was put back by it since I've done a few shock upgrades on my past camaros. These shocks were not factory they were a different make. Forgot the brand name of the front shocks.
