Stripping and Pollishing Rims Help

I am using aircraft remover to strip the clear coat. I've caked it on / power washed it off 3 times at 30 min. intervals with no results. Are these rims a chrome plated version or should I use a different stripper? They are on a 2000 ws6 with correct center caps. They're 17 inch and have GM stamped on them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure there is a clear on them still?

^^^thats what i was thinking too ... mine came off no problem immediately almost all on 1st coat with 7 dollar walmart stripper - really no need to buy anything stronger (not sure what you paid but just stating as a research point maybe for future viewers) ... well, start trying to polish & if they shine up then obviously the clear coat is gone is all i can think of.

Try a little metal polish. If it turns black they are uncoated. If not then they are still coated.

If you didnt see the clear coat peeling within a minute after the stripper touching the rim, then maybe the rims have already been stripped previously.
