Trying to understand offset
He explained and reassured me that if I purchase the correct rim that I wont need a spacer or a BFH for the rear.
I am planning on running 18s with 315s, 11 inch wide rims.
He explained that owners of fbody's with CCW rims that run spacers or have to roll their fenders typically have the wheels with the wrong offset, ie bought vette rims for their fbodies. I can understand that.
I guess my question is that I did not think offset was "brand" specific. So is the offset for an fbody wheel from CCW different that what another manufacturer may make for their fbody wheel?
I guess in the sticky about all the wheel info that is why offset has ranges.
Anyone who can shed some light I would appreciate it.
thanks
"Offset" is the distance the wheel mounting pad (the surface of the wheel's center that contacts the rotor/brake drum), and the true centerline of the wheel.
