Default Full Slick vs DOT Slick

Traction wise at the strip, how much difference is there between the two? Does a full slick really have any advantage over a ET Street, Quick Time Pro, or M&H Cheater Slick?

I bet the answer to that question has a lot to do with what kind of power your making and at what RPM you're leaving off the line. In for answers as well.

The question isn't ET based. He is asking is going to a full slick worth it for traction. Say street or poorly prepped track, ease of making a car hook i.e. less finicky about suspension setup.

Did the 60' times differ that much?

I asked Jason Moulton from MT this question a few years ago (28x10.50 ET Drag vs 28x12.50 ET Street) and this was his response:

"The constructions for the ET Street are very similiar, and the compound is the same as used on the 10.5 tires. Neither are not considered a "stiff sidewall" tire."

According to Micky Thompson's publications. Only difference is the "water channel" groove on the DOT version. Other than that little groove they are the same tire.

Really though, who makes so much power and leaves hard enough that 1/8" of contact patch is noticeable?
