Taller tire question
I'm looking to put a taller tire on the rear wheels of my camaro. I am currently WS6 wheels, 245/45/17 in the front 274/45/17 rear. Stock ride height as well. What are my options for filling in the wheel well some more with taller rubber?
That being the case, you can easily go to a 285/40/17 in the rear for a little extra width and a little extra height. It's not much, but when I used to have this size in the rear you could in fact see a small height difference between it and the 275/40s that I had up front. The problem with 285/40 is that there are very limited tire options in this size.
Beyond that, you really can't go any taller while staying at or near the factory width, as nobody makes a 275/45/17, 285/45/17, 275/50/17, or 285/50/17 tire. If you were willing to go with a narrower tire, then you'd have the option of a 245/50/17 or 255/45/17 - both of which are taller than the 275/40 (or 245/45 you have up front) but obviously narrower.
