I have an 01 z28, and i'm looking at upgrading the wheels. I'm just curious maybe what you guys have done, I would love to see pictures of your cars. and also is anyone has rim references i'm open to entertain. I want some good looking 5 spoke rims, and if I can find any, staggered would be lovely. I want some fatt tires in the back. So let me know/see what you got. thanks.
I prefer factory wheels , unless your spending a lot of bux they will usually be much lighter (quicker) and the finish lasts better than aftermarket again unless your spending big coin.
for 5 spokes I like my staggered C5 5 spokes you can see in my sig (295/45/18 in rear) , mine are factory painted but they were also available polished which looks good on some colors especially black...
My SS came with the 17x9 factory chrome ZR1 wheels. I sold the rears and bought aftermarket 17x11 chrome rears. Was very cheap after I sold the 17x9 rears
Check out VMR V705's. The BMW Bolt Pattern works with our cars, the only thing you have to pay attention to is the offset, I run VMR BMW wheels on my car on a +45mm offset. (VB3's)
These are incredibly nice concave wheels, at about $800 per set.
I run the zr1 wheels as well 9.5" with 56mm offset and 275/40/17 on the front, 11" rears, 50mm offset wrapped in 315/35/17. Nitto 555s all the way around. A very popular set up for these cars (cause it looks so damn good) but can take some modifications to fit.
The z346, that does look gorgeous! and the sizing sounds great! did you have to do any modding to fit your set, and where would you find a set like that?
Got these from OEWheels They're c4 zr1 replicas. I did have to do quite a bit to get them to fit. I rolled the fenders, I also had to cut out the bump stops and beat the inner fender wells (BFH mod). Some have to do this some don't due to inconsistencies in the cars. OEWheels has all different types of OEM style wheels but in colors and deep dish styles that were not offered from factory. In your price range aswell I'm in the whole set for like $650 ish I believe.
