Default Thoughts on tire/rim setup

I have ordered a set of Weld RT-S S71 in 18x9 and 18x10 for my 5th Gen Camaro SS. I am planning on running Nitto NT555 (265/50) and Nitto NT555-R (305/45) on them. This setup will be used daily. I have a L99 and just bolt ons and a tune. I make about 370 to the tire so nothing fast. I can break street tires lose now though easily.

Any thoughts or feedback on this setup?

First time running a radial.

What PSI do you guys recommend for the NT555-R's on the street? This is my daily setup. I have gotten mixed answers from so many people. I am trying different PSI's every few days.

Sounds like that should be a pretty good setup for the street, especially for the occasional strip visit. Just wondering though what made you choose to drop to 18" wheels instead of 20" like stock? PSI will very, I ran my NT555s PSI around 33-35 on the street but had the best grip around 22-27psi, granted I ran these pressures for AutoX and RR with sidewall ratio's of 40 and 35 compared your 50 and 45.

Most of those who seriously road race 5th gens drop to 18s.

I am enjoying it and trying to find a good PSI for my rear tires for longevity of them. 18" improve the ride, give more sidewall, and reduces rotating mass. I know at the track they do really well around 18-22 PSI, but on the street I am trying to find a PSI that improve how long they last. I've read of many people running too much PSI and wearing out centers. Right now I am running 28 PSI cold.

18's and smaller are ideal for any kind of road racing on 5th gens.

I ran them at 15 or 20.. I think 20 I'm not sure had that rim and tire on my car only a month. The tire hooked like crazy even without a burnout. I had a 18 35 305 on the back. Just so u know that tire is just a naturally tall tire so ur car might have a stink bug look that's why I took them off its just a bolt on LT I didn't need a drag radial.. It looked hideous to me.. Lol u will be fine daily driving on them tho!

5th gen SS Camaro's come with a 28.7 tall tire so it looks normal to me. Just a wider patch.
