Default quick nt05r question

have a quick question for my 01 ss. looking at the nitto nt05r for the rear of my street car, two sizes come up in my interest for my 18 inch rims that are on the car. 305/45r18, and 285/40 r18. will the 305 fit my car without any modifications? obviously I want the wider of the two tires, but I'll go with the 285s if I have to. if modifications are necessary, how did you make them fit? almost forgot, my car is lowered 1 inch if it matters. any input greatly appreciated!

The tire is over 28" I guess. My last car had a narrowed 9" and a 27.5 inch tire. I had to roll the lip on the inside to stop them from rubbing, when it squatted under acceleration. So with a 1" drop I would say no.

Yeah the 45 is a decently tall tire. looks like I may have to go with the 285/40r18s. I'm guessing I'll have to remove bump stops with either tire?

I ordered stock width when I purchased the rear end, and the wheels fit just fine, so I'm guessing my backspace would have to be close to whatever stock is

The 285/40 R18 is 27.09" tall and 11.42" wide. I could see that fitting. I'm still waiting on a reply from someone I know who has slicks he runs at the track on his. The exact tire size I had on my other F-body was a 325/50 15 it bearly fit. I cut the bump stops off, rolled the inner lip in on the wheel arch. It still rubbed if I left real had with it though.

I appreciate the input so far. I'm not afraid of modifying the car further to make some bigger tires fit.I've alresdy modified the rest of the car lol I'm finishing up a 700+ rwhp fi build so I'm gonna need a decent size tire for the street, I don't wanna be going sideways everywhere. I just wanted to put the widest tires on for now that will fit, even if it requires me to do a little cutting or what not

Don't know what size your running now but this thread can give you and idea of what a 295/35/18's would look like on your size wheels.
