Will this part # RACE STAR 17X9.5 BRACKET RACER WHEEL GM 6.875 BS GLOSS BLACK 92-795253B fit rear with 285 40r 17? Having them mounted tomorrow and discount tire saying it will not fit.

265/60/15 is a 27.5x10.4 tire
285/40/17 is a 26x11.2 tire and you can put it on a 9.5-11" wheel. Offset on those wheels with that backspaceing is +43.50mm. The outer sidewall will only be about 0.51" farther out compared to say, a ZR1 with a 17x9.5 with +56mm offset.

Speedo will be off, but I don't see why it wouldn't fit on the wheel and on the car with no rubbing.

Why the switch? I would think that the 265/60/15 can handle the power better than a 17" setup.

5.7 striker, thank you for responding. That's what I thought but they had me second guessing myself. Just been long day and wanted to make sure.
