Default Black and polished racestars

So the racestars i have started looking pretty awful last year and really got bad over the winter. Even though the car doesnt go anywhere during the winter, i think just the salt in the air really did a number on the clear coat. So i tested one out to make sure this is what i wanted.

Stripped the old coating off with easy off, wetsanded the whole wheel with 400 then 600, then continued with 1000, 1500, 2000 then 3000 on the lip. Then used my grinder with a polishing wheel and some compound. I really wanted to polish the whole wheel but the sides of the spokes were proving to be too difficult to get a finish that i was happy with. So i decided to try black. Im pretty happy with them. They'll keep me happy for now. What does anyone else think? Dont mind the fine line tape. It has to stay on til the paint cures.

Rob

Will do when they're done. Going to let the paint cure for a week and then wetsand and hand polish them. Only have one done at the moment. Actually did the other rear one first but the clear turned all cloudy and frosted looking so i will be redoing it and the fronts at the same time.
