Default Some wheel and spacers questions

Sorry guys for putting up another thread about spacers. I've searched to the best of my abilities and am still confused a little.

I just picked up a set of 4 corvette reps that are 18x10.5 with 56 offset. The car is off the ground and the wheels are making contact with the bump stops. I plan on running 295/35/18 for the rear and still trying to figure out what size to go for the front. I'll do some rolling if I need it rubs.

What i am confused about from searching the forum is spacers and longer studs vs wheel adapters. What is the safer route? I couldnt find a concrete answer. What size spacer/adapters should I get for the front and back? I know some people didn't need spacers but I'd like to use some to bring the wheels out a little. Car is set up to go around corners.

Thanks for any help in advance.

I can't really help you with offset however if you search you should be able to find answers for that.
What I can tell you is that
1.) for a handling setup you want a square tire setup, so run the same sizes front and rear.
2.) with your car in the air you wheels might hit your bumpstops regardless of having a spacer especially if you have the stock PHB or a PHB setup at all vs an aftermarket watts link. This is common and what you do is jack the rear of the car up by the center of the axle so the wheels don't make contact. If you space the wheels too far out you might make tire contact with the outer fenders then on certain inclines or bumps.

Thanks for the reply. I'd love to run a square setup but I'll end up with 305 in the back and i don't know if I can do that with the fronts. I just ordered some 5mm and 15mm spacers and some arp studs. Lets see how that works.

You can fit 315s in the front... Front will require less work than the rear to run wide wheels/tires.

I run 305/19 square. Everyone has different fitment stories, here's mine. My car is lowered on BMR 160/550 series springs. 7 9/16" backspacing on all 4 corners. Rears fit, no problems on inner or outside. Fronts, on the inside, the sidewall of tire is 1/4" from rubbing on upper ball joint bolt with medium negative camber, hits wheel well pretty good. Fronts outside rub on top of fender and wheel well in hard cornering situation. This is even after removing wheelwell and wedging fender out an additional 1/2" and reinstalling wheelwell as high as possible.

Use H&R spacers,, those clever Germans know how to machine them right... They are hub centric, and have a hub on the front of the spacer so they hub center the wheel. Lots of road racers use them.. I tested a few on a flat table with a dial indicator and they were front to rear surface perfectly parallel.. (Near as I could measure. ) and they have no runout either..

You install longer studs to use their spacers...

just run them square. I have the same wheels (oem versions 18x10.5 +58) with 20mm spacers. 285/35 all around.

spacers and arp studs is all you need
